Michael Harnish (b. 1982, Los Angeles) draws from several art historical lineages ranging from California West Coast abstraction to classical traditional painting. His work exudes a certain playfulness, moving between serious observation and gestural forms. His work encompasses both small-scale collaging with scraps of paper to large scale floral paintings.
Recent exhibitions include The Newsstand Project and Tel Aviv Museum (2020), The Painters Room with Julia Bass (2020), and Merchant Gallery (2019).
Michael earned his MFA from Laguna College of Art & Design in 2010.
