Shannon Roxanne creates neon sculptures and conceptual artworks in Los Angeles. With a minimalistic approach, she combines the phenomena of color, symmetry, and light to transform space.
“My romanticism for Los Angeles began at a young age. Experiencing the architecture and landscape of the city, mostly on foot, left lasting impressions that now inform my work. Animated signs from the Theater District, Grand Central Market, Chinatown, and so many others in soft twilight are engrained visions of my childhood. Creating 'Day', 'Evening', and 'Night' from dead-stock neon tubing was driven by my nostalgia around the visuals I've experienced in my adolescence. These sculptures are a minimalistic embodiment of those visceral moments — my golden hour memories.”
