Compound Yucca Valley is pleased to present What a Soul Is. The show will open Saturday, May 18 and run through June 23, 2019.
What a Soul Is features works by Rebecca Bruno, Julia Bass, Jordan Christian, Mak Kern, Kassidy Penso, Daniel Rosenbaum, and Jared Rodriguez.
Inspired by the sublime American southwest, the exhibition’s title reflects perceptions of an environment which is known by many as mysterious and unparalleled. Works selected for this exhibition were chosen on the premise that they operate in both concrete and abstract ways, reflecting what is both present physically and metaphysically. Through a diverse range of painting, sculpture, and sound installation, What a Soul Is offers up the idea that the objects created by each artists evoke similar experiences created by the vast mysterious landscape in which this exhibition takes place.
