Courtney Buckland uses a range of mediums, both digital and analog, to explore our engagement with mass media and popular culture. She is particularly interested in the representation of women in media and censorship resistance. By appropriating and recontextualizing mainstream imagery and advertising, her works offer a distressing and comical look at underlying themes present in celebrated American pastimes. Courtney lives in Joshua Tree with her partner and their dog, GNOME!
