Josie Kim Parker is an assemblage sculptor who interprets her personal stories as thoughts emanating from faceless bamboo framed dolls cast in her series GUARDIANS. Josie’s work is illustrated by textiles and embellishments collected during her journey as an antique and collectibles dealer specializing in Mid-Century Modern and Asian Pacific designs. She also interned with Japanese puppet sensei and special effects artist Michiko Tagawa. She has shown work in high desert galleries such as the Beatnik Lounge, Joshua Tree Art Gallery, Glass Outhouse and currently at Compound Yucca Valley, in addition to private collections.
