Miri Hunter is an artist, musician, writer and performer. She is the Producing and Artistic Director of Thought Theatre Morongo Basin, co-producer of the Hi-Desert Fringe Festival and singer/songwriter for the high desert duo Hunter and the Wicked. Hunter began to explore painting when she left Los Angeles ten years ago and took up residency in the high desert. Her art is inspired by the beauty and high vibrations of the desert as well as her studies in East African talismanic art traditions and her cultural standpoint as a mixed race woman. Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, she currently makes her home in Wonder Valley, CA where she divides her time between writing, acting, singing, painting and professing at both St. Mary’s College, in Moraga, CA, and Copper Mountain College in Joshua Tree, CA.
