Tania "T" Hammidi is a Lebanese-American performer, writer and community-engagement artist. Their work amplifies queer/trans dignity and addresses Mojave Desert food security and decolonization of the California date palm through research, site-specific installation, and education. Hammidi is currently documenting and archiving a multi-year desert oral history project, “Hi-Desert Queer and Trans Oral History” with support from a 2023 California Humanities Quick Grant. Hammidi holds a Ph.D. in Critical Dance Studies and M.S. in Community Development, with recent publications in Joshua Tree Voice Magazine, Luna Arcana Joshua Tree, and Transgender Studies Quarterly
