My work examines the sensuous space between the comic and the tragic, what is real and what is fictitious, what can simultaneously exist and be at odds in the life of an event or virtual space. Today we spend so much of our time maintaining a virtual persona and presence, the gap and stutter between what is real and what is presented is at the core of many of the animations, paintings and sculptures. The materials hold a metaphor of the ephemeral and the cherished, creating objects, textiles and videos, that play with what is monumental and decorative, comic and tragic, and beg the viewer to reconsider their relationship to these ideas and realities.
