Alex Maceda is a Filipina-American artist and writer. Her energetic, abstract figurative work and lyrical writing explore the medial spaces between waking and dreaming, reality and imagination, literal and abstract. She believes all art is autobiographical. Alex’s paintings have appeared in shows across the US including Los Angeles, Portland, Joshua Tree and Miami. Alex was a resident artist at Saga Residency (Iceland), Willow House (TX) and Sunlit Ranch (NM) and her work has been recognized by Artsy’s curatorial team. Her writing has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Alex holds a BA in Classical Studies and Studio Art from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. She was raised in between the San Francisco Bay Area and Manila, Philippines.
