Matters of Suspension 

Nick Nazmi’s (b. Chicago, 1991) work is influenced heavily by Persian folklore and the poetry of his father and grandfather from Iran. The apparitions, lost souls, and characters in his paintings and drawings are often stuck in their nostalgia for a time and place that is no longer accessible. Nick had a solo exhibition at Compound called Matters of Suspension in July 2020. Working primarily in oil, Nick is also an animator and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
