Colin Sussingham
Colin Sussingham’s practice has a consistent element of transience. His informal, rapid photography captures fleeting actions and expressions of person, place, or thing. Shot between 2019 and 2021, his Nightswimmer series takes its audience into another dimension: a space that is colorful and dramatic, beautiful and eerie. Bodies are celebrated and the subject can let go. The pressure of water, lack of visibility, gravity, and breath combine to conjure both calm and tension, grace and struggle, release and resistance.
