Colin Holloway is a self taught artist originating from New Jersey, spending his formative years in Philadelphia, and making his studio and life in Joshua Tree, California.
He has had multiple solo and group shows across the United States. Pulling from gesture rather than thought. Letting the studio draw him more inward without grasping at the easy fruit. He sacrifices the image with paint and layers to unveil something more. Figures and objects hide in the layers but still hold weight even under the surface, peeking through at times to hold space for the viewer to engage with the piece in their own personal way.
