We invite you to attend Ecosomatic Landscapes, a movement-based performance-in-progress and somatic offering by Stephanie Zaletel. Originally from the Mojave Desert region of Las Vegas, NV, Zaletel’s CalArts Master’s thesis explores the intersection of ecology and movement through ecosomatics. Ecosomatics is an emerging interdisciplinary field that can be viewed through both poetic and scientific lenses. Their site-responsive dance work investigates the relationship between the human body and the desert landscape, framing the land itself as an active audience. After the performance, a short conversation on Zaletel's practice will follow.
